Reseaching your question, I actually learnt something myself. So, thank you.
With that in mind, I created a specific version to work with Windows XP, which should also work with Windows 7, 8 and 10.
I tested with a Windows XP and it worked.
Please head to this post https://www.gromastech.com/download/teamviewer-popup-killer-2-2/ and you can find the XP version to download, just bellow the “normal” TeamViewer Popup Killer “download” button.

Thanks for the quick reply. The system would appear to have .NET 4.04 installed; that said MS says that 4.03 is the latest version compatible with XP (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/on-windows-xp).

I would be grateful if you had any other thoughts. On a long shot I removed the spaces from the file names but there was no change.

That sounds like you need to install .NET framework for Windows XP. However, I am not sure if the latest version of .NET framework for Windows Xp will work, as Microsoft stop supporting Windows XP.
